Major refurbishment of the existing listed structure

Client:

Hillingdon London Borough Council

Manor Farm is Hillingdon’s flagship heritage and culture site, housing a unique collection of community spaces, historic buildings, archaeological remains and landscape features, set in 22 acres of beautiful grounds. Manor Farm Stables have been refurbished to form a function hall with its own kitchen, toilets and entrance, operating as a community resource by the London Borough of Hillingdon to provide space for events and functions throughout the year.

The renovation scheme included the total refurbishment of the existing listed structure to both internal and external areas of the building and roofing, as well as repairs to the existing building fabric together with M&E installations.

We formed a new entrance to the building, through the existing annex. New kitchen facilities were put in place, whilst internal building works covered the removal of two internal spine walls to form a large, uninterrupted multi-use space. Internal sub-floor foundation works raised the lower floor levels in line with the upper level and the existing windows and doors were replaced with new units.

M&E works included the internal strip out of redundant services and relocation of incoming power and water services, lighting and emergency lighting.
