Our team is now on site delivering Shiplake College’s new modular Wellbeing Centre, with groundwork complete and construction progressing efficiently.
The project comprises the construction of a new purpose-built Medical (Wellbeing) Centre within the Shiplake College campus, including associated drainage and external works. The development will replace the existing medical wing and provide a modern, dedicated facility designed to support both the physical and emotional wellbeing of pupils within a busy boarding and day school environment.
Construction commenced during the Easter holidays, with the contractor’s compound established on site to enable works to progress within the live college setting. Early stages have included excavation and formation of the building footprint, marking a key milestone in bringing the scheme from concept to reality.
The new centre is being delivered using a modular construction approach, with the primary building structure manufactured off site and later craned into position. This methodology has been selected to improve programme efficiency, reduce on-site disruption, and maintain safety within the operational school environment.
Designed to provide a holistic approach to student care, the facility will include enhanced medical accommodation alongside dedicated spaces for counselling, therapy, and wider wellbeing services. The scheme reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for its community.
Construction is programmed to continue throughout the Summer Term, with completion targeted during the summer holiday period to minimise disruption to staff and pupils.
