Stonewater Housing Association

We were appointed by social housing provider Stonewater to construct a total of 12 affordable housing units – made up of two 2-bed semi-detached homes in addition to 10 one- and two-bed flats.

Five apartments, all on the ground floor, provide four 1-bedroom flats and one 2-bed flat, with five 2-bedroom flats on the first floor. The accommodation is serviced with associated parking, amenity space and access road. External works include a side road, footpaths, fencing, screen walling, lighting, parking areas, landscaping, drainage and service connections.

The scheme also included the construction of a new single-storey church extension at St George’s Hall, featuring underfloor heating, and a new office and WC, kitchen, and a parish room – with a folding wall to divide the space and provide flexibility of use. The extension included a dedicated parking area to provide much-needed improved facilities to the local community.

Externally, feature brick lintels and Imperial brickwork matches the existing building. Internally, Gothic arch windows and stonework add to the stunning architecture – with a large opening cut through existing brickwork to link the old space with the new.

External doors, skirtings, chair rails, and transitions between existing floors and new floors were made and installed by Francis Joinery, together with bespoke windows from a specialist window contractor.

The scheme achieved a ‘Good’ Considerate Constructors Scheme rating across the programme.
