We completed works at this shared ownership scheme located in Ruscombe, near Twyford, which was built on the site of a former Council owned garage site that had fallen into disrepair.
The new housing development for housing provider WHL (Wokingham Housing Ltd – a wholly owned subsidiary of Wokingham Borough Council) consists of two 2-bed semi-detached properties, providing additional social housing in the Reading area through a regeneration scheme.
Following the liquidation of the previous contractor, WHL approached us to complete the scheme. Works undertaken included
new crossovers, installation of an adoptable sewer connection, redesigned kitchen and bathroom, M&E, carpentry and decorating. The renovation scheme included hard and soft landscaping to the front and rear of the properties.
Sustainable features
To improve sustainability (in the absence of PVs from the original design), we installed a waste water heat recovery to the bathrooms. With target air permeability of 6, and the plots achieved 5.6 and 5.9 respectively within the constructed envelopes.
The project completed in May 2020.
