Located at the heart of ARC Oxford, Building 4000 is a detached building totalling of 1,523 sq m (16,389 sq ft). It was comprehensively refurbished by ARC to provide fitted CL2 laboratory space and office accommodation to meet new tenant’s, OMass’, scientific and technical requirements to support ongoing and future drug discovery efforts. Renovated office space enables collaborative working on-site and virtually.
We were responsible for the external works and started with the replacement of the existing external windows and fire exit doors.
We were then appointed to design and deliver the external envelope works including re-roofing of building and installation of photovoltaic panels. At the entrance to the building a new canopy was constructed and the whole building benefitted from installation of new cladding and flue.
The associated hard and soft landscaping works included creation of bin store and plant enclosures. New bicycle shelter, electric vehicle charging points were added and new parking spaces created.
