Francis Construction shortlisted for CIOB CMYA 2019
Francis Construction are proud to announce the nomination of our Project Manager, Adrian O'Shaughnessy, as a finalist in the Restoration category for this year’s Construction Manager of the Year Awards, following the successful delivery of Phase I at Eton College New Schools.
The CIOB awards scheme is dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in building and construction. Our shortlisting is testimony to Adrian's inspired leadership and management in delivering this impressive and complex project.
While the first phase of the scheme was handed over to a delighted client at the end of last year, the second phase of works - to create a conferencing room, a suite of new offices for the senior management team and a new state-of-the-art communications room, all within the grade II listed buildings - was completed on time in May.
Internal spaces were significantly altered, with new M&E services and finishes installed throughout, including oak joinery, along with high quality bespoke cloakroom fittings and a kitchen hand built by our sister company, Francis Joinery.
Craftsmen installed a new ceiling within the conference room (traditionally made from fibrous plaster moulding) to exactly replicate the other listed coffered ceilings throughout the building. Timber wall cladding and bespoke moulding were installed to match and complement the existing listed joinery features. External works included the refurbishment of Cannon Yard, with removal and replacement of the cannon following its restoration (by others).
