This Grade 2 listed building needed total refurbishment as well as alterations and extensions to allow its division to provide new Parish Rooms, as well as the Rectory.
The new works had to replicate the existing details and traditional imperial bricks, lime/sand mortar and vertical sliding sash windows were used.
In the old part of the building many of the traditional features had to be replaced including timber balustrading, and a zinc roofed veranda.
Externally the gardens which run down to the river bank, incorporated nesting boxes, bat boxes and other features to encourage the local wildlife. The new drive and garage, constructed on the flood plane, included flood prevention measures and permeable surfacing to ensure that preserved trees were not affected.
Despite the challenges of some unforeseen problems the whole project was finished on time and within budget.
