A purpose designed Care Home, with 39 Flats, providing differing levels of care to suit local requirements. The building is warden controlled, with special respite care, physiotherapy treatment, communal lounges and spa treatment baths. Construction was traditional using load bearing cavity walls, precast floor slabs with special sound proofing measures. Fire compartmentation and means of escape needed special attention. The elevations used areas of reconstructed stone masonry, with cream self-coloured rendering and were provided with balcony features. Extensive landscaping was added to form secluded garden areas. Traditional clay tile roofing was used to cover the roof area, with lead work to hips and valleys. Special security and energy saving measures were incorporated into the design, many being developed with our supply chain partners.
