A secure development of 32 Retirement Homes with communal facilities, warden controlled, with affordable service charges. Traditional brick and block cavity walling was used with high levels of insulation to reduce heat loss and running costs. Timber trussed roofs were used with concrete interlocking tiles. The sandy clay ground conditions required reinforced foundations and pre-cast concrete floor slabs. The area was attractively laid out with landscaped gardens for the residents use. Communications to local shops, health centre and town centre buses were excellent.
