Working closely with the Church Of England Diocese of Oxford, a new Assembly/Sports Hall and back of house facilities have been constructed to almost double the schools available internal area. The hall takes pride of place with its full height arched gothic windows and architectural steelwork that seamlessly blend into the adjacent listed buildings and the original schoolhouse.
The kitchen, stores and offices allow the school much needed administration space and the wide, naturally lit corridors provide a pleasant core to the building. The original plant room and library have been fully refurbished maximising efficiency, space and light to provide an excellent learning environment.
A superb project which was completed 6 weeks ahead of schedule and to a high standard, with the added bonus of allowing the Christmas Nativity play to be held in the new hall.
This was achieved through close liaison with the school on the day to day running of the project whilst managing a restricted access and using ‘lean’ delivery concepts. A happy design team and a delighted client. The project was officially opened by Sir William Benyon.
